Flight disruptions are expected at Greek airports today as air-traffic controllers are set to walk out between 1200 – 1600 hours (local time)

During the walk out it is expected that no flights will operate in or out of Greece. This disruption is likely to lead to many flight delays or flight times being changed.

Lufthansa confirms that over 1500 flights have been cancelled due to strike-action – Today, 22 April 2013

German airline Lufthansa has cancelled the majority of its flights scheduled for Monday 22 April 2013 due to a strike. The airline said only about thirty of its flights would run as planned, out of more than 1,700 originally scheduled. In a statement on its website, Lufthansa said passengers should expect “massive” flight cancellations. Ground staff have called the one-day strike in an on going pay dispute, as Lufthansa rejected union demands for a five percent wage increase

Ben-Gurion airport to shut down for several hours – 23 April 13

Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel is to shut for several hours on 23 April 2013 due to a strike action. The airport is to shut down from 0500 hrs (local) on 23 April 2013 as Airport Authority workers launch a strike in solidarity with workers at Israel’s three airlines, El Al, Arkia and Israir. Passengers due to use the airport are advised that all El Al flights scheduled to depart before 2100 hrs (local) on 23 April 2013 have been cancelled.

From 23rd April 2013 easyJet aims to be operating an online only check in process. They will be changing the check in experience at airports by removing traditional check in desks and replacing them with Bag Drop desks to help increase efficiency and reduce costs.

To check in online, passengers require their unique easyJet Booking Reference Number and passenger name. The Booking Reference Number is on the EasyJet confirmation that is emailed to you after a booking has been confirmed. Once you have checked in you will need to print off your boarding pass and take this with you to the airport.

 
Online check in is available from 30 days before your flight until two hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Workers at the Spanish airline, Iberia, have called off strike action planned for 18-22 March 2013.

The announcement comes after an agreement was reached between unions and the International Airlines Group (IAG) that will result in fewer job losses and improved redundancy packages.

Workers had planned the strike to protest proposed job losses of almost 4,000 and the five-day walkout would have been the third since February 2013.

Transport unions have called for strike action on 22 March 2013 in Italy.

Staff operating local bus and trams services will take part in twenty-four hour strike action on 22 March 2013, however specific strike times may vary depending on location.

Airport staff are set to go on strike on 20 February 2013, the latest in a series of strikes over a pay dispute.

The ver.di Union announced yesterday that their staff would be striking from 0345-2300 (local) at the Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Cologne-Bonn airports.

Delays and cancellations are expected at all three airports, with travellers being advised to check with their airline before arriving in case their flight has been affected.

Airline workers for Spanish national carrier Iberia have begun a five-day strike in protest over planned cuts to jobs and salaries on 18 February 2013.

Around 400 flights have been cancelled this week, as cabin crew and baggage handlers begin their walk-out which is likely to have a knock-on effect on other flights from airports across the country. Unions have announced they plan on holding three five-day strikes in February and March 2013, with around 70,000 passengers to be affected by the first of the strikes.

 
Iberia officials said that the majority of their long-haul flights will remain unaffected by the strikes, as it is mainly domestic flights that have been cancelled.
